Safina Hamid graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with Honours from University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom in 2009. She was admitted as a Barrister-at-Law (Middle Temple) in 2010 upon completing her Bar Vocational Course at BPP London.

Safina commenced her pupillage at Messrs Yusof Halim & Partners (previously known as Messrs Sankaran Halim) and thereafter was admitted as an advocate & solicitor of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam in 2011. Safina previously served as Treasurer of the Law Society of Brunei Darussalam from 2012 to 2014.

Safina’s experience encompasses a wide array of general civil litigation and corporate advisory with her practice focused primarily on personal injury matters, corporate and commercial litigation and conveyancing.

Safina’s portfolio also includes shareholder disputes, criminal litigation, property and land disputes, defamation, bankruptcy, winding-up proceedings, basic and complex debt recovery matters, probate and matrimonial disputes.

Safina has represented a wide range of clients encompassing individuals, local companies and multinational companies such as Mashhor Group of Companies and World Bank Group providing services such as due diligence, litigation, drafting and vetting of agreements, and advisory services on employment law, policies and handbooks.

Apart from being an experienced and dedicated lawyer, Safina is also a Board Member of Tasconi’s International Sdn Bhd and Brudesh Engineering Sdn Bhd. She regularly volunteers her time to causes that champion the rights of women and children and is a Legal Advisor to Project Women Brunei, a not-for-profit social enterprise committed to educate, engage and empower women and girls.
